The Bahamas has been part of our family’s cruise story since Ollie’s first voyage aboard Majesty of the Seas in 2016. CocoCay was a highlight of that early trip. We returned aboard Celebrity Reflection in 2024, when Nassau replaced Bimini, reminding us that a cruise itinerary can change even after the plans are made.

Fall Break 2024 aboard Celebrity Reflection
Celebrity Reflection was our first Celebrity cruise, and honestly, we booked it because we really wanted to get back on a ship. Fall Break was coming up, we found this cruise somewhat last minute, and decided to give a cruise line we'd never sailed before a try. We didn't really know what to expect from Celebrity. By the end of the cruise, though, we had discovered two things that would change how we cruise: we loved Celebrity's food, and we realized how much we enjoyed eating in the main dining room—even for meals we normally would have eaten at the buffet. The Worst Cruise
Our first cruise made us fall in love with cruising. This one almost did the opposite. If this had been our first cruise, there's a decent chance we might never have cruised again. In fact, the experience was disappointing enough that we stopped cruising for several years afterward. But this trip is still an important part of our family's travel story because it was Ollie's very first cruise, at only 11 months old. As a traditional ship review, this one isn't particularly useful anymore—the ship is no longer in service. Instead, this is a look back at one of our least-favorite cruises, what went wrong, and the lessons from it that still influence how we cruise today.

Reflection
Celebrity Reflection introduced us to Celebrity in October 2024. We loved the food and discovered how much we enjoyed using the main dining room, even for meals we once would have taken at the buffet. Its relaxed atmosphere suited our family well enough that we booked a return for October 2026.

Majesty of the Seas
